Hakan Pehlivan was born in Ankara where he earned hir bachelor degree in Art Education from Gazi Universityin. From 1996 to 1998 he studied in University of Newcastle upon Tyne, England for master degree. Then he got PhD degree in painting from Hacettpe University, Ankara. He joined over forthy group exhibition and opened five solo exhibitions and holds three national awards. His works are held in both private and corporate collections around the World. He is currently teaches art in Erciyes University, Kayseri, Turkey.

He constantly searchs for mediums through which He feel deeply connected with his works. The search for a medium that not only connects with his, but is also suited for his work, is difficult because it requires a fine balance. The medium through which an artist expresses his vision can itself be the vision of the artist.
